Overview
Finned tubes are a type of heat exchange element. They are mainly used to improve the heat exchange efficiency. Fins are usually added to the surface of the heat exchange tube to increase the outer surface area (or inner surface area) of the heat exchange tube, thereby achieving the purpose of improving the heat exchange efficiency of the heat exchange tube.
Finned tubes have the characteristics of high heat transfer power, large heat dissipation area, long service life, and wide temperature control requirements. Its heat transfer area is several to dozens of times larger than that of light tubes, and has the effect of strengthening heat transfer and reducing resistance.
In view of the fact that finned tubes are installed on mechanical equipment such as boilers and must withstand the test of continuous high temperature, when selecting finned tubes, it is necessary to select finned tubes with more outstanding performance as follows. Finned tubes have strong corrosion resistance. If the selected finned tubes are not corrosion resistant, they are prone to corrosion under continuous high temperature conditions.
Secondly, finned tubes have strong wear resistance. If the finned tubes are worn, the heat transfer effect will be disturbed to a corresponding degree. Therefore, finned tubes with strong wear resistance should be selected.
Third, the finned tube has low contact thermal resistance. Only by choosing finned tubes with low contact thermal resistance can the performance of the finned tube be maintained under continuous high temperature conditions; the finned tube has strong stability. Only by choosing finned tubes with strong stability can the heat transfer performance not be affected under continuous high temperature conditions; fifth, the finned tube has good dust resistance.
ASTM A106 Gr.B HFW U-shaped finned tube is a heat exchanger tube made of carbon steel with a unique "U" shaped fin profile. The "U" shaped fins are welded on the outer surface of the tube in a spiral manner to form an extended surface, which can improve the overall heat transfer efficiency.
